It is with great pleasure that we announce the 11th Congress of the European Headache Federation, hosted in Rome from the 1st to the 3rd of December 2017. Many of the international initiatives on headache have seen this city as proscenium, but for EHF this is a première.
Rome has seen the birth and the growth of the official journal of EHF, The Journal of Headache and Pain, and is now ready to host the re-launch of EHF that repossesses its own identity. This Congress will be shaped on a new EHF inclusive and open philosophy, where together with titans new talents will have voice, offering equal dignity to symphonies and overtures. Auditorium Parco della Musica will be the natural cradle of this new deal. There is no elitist demand in this congressional offer: everyone will have the chance to be actor of it. Topics that two decades ago were considered imaginative or visionary, the neuro-immunology of headaches, are nowadays at the top through the paradigm of anti-CGRP monoclonal antibodies, topic that will be exhaustively covered during this Congress at different levels of accessibility, from molecular biology to clinical applications.
“Not only CGRP” is the leitmotiv of the Scientific Committee, anyone will be able to choose a side in a prismatic area of headache medicine that recognizes richness in the multidisciplinary debate. Two important European Societies, EFIC and EFIM, will be next to us.
SISC, the master of the house, will have the pleasure to welcome its members in a parallel day.
Our best wish to whoever will want to share this event with us is that the congressional liturgy will reach such intensity to make them look away from the endless beauties of the Eternal City.
